Happy New Year 2023

Through The Coming Year

“Grant that I may pass through
the coming year with a faithful heart.
There will be much to test me and
make weak my strength before the year ends.
In my confusion I shall often say the word that is not true and do the thing of which I am ashamed.
There will be errors in the mind
and great inaccuracies of judgment…
In seeking the light,
I shall again and again find myself
walking in the darkness.
I shall mistake my light for Your light
and I shall drink from the responsibility of the choice I make.
Nevertheless, grant that I may pass through the coming year with a faithful heart.
May I never give the approval of my heart to error, to falseness, to vanity, to sin.
Though my days be marked
with failures, stumblings, fallings,
let my spirit be free
so that You may take it
and redeem my moments
in all the ways my needs reveal.
Give me the quiet assurance
of Your Love and Presence.
Grant that I may pass through
the coming year with a faithful heart.”

Greetings MMCT Family!

As we together enter into this brand new year, we wanted to share with you our renewed commitment to justice and justice making here in CT and around the world.

In 2022, we engaged in ways that supported the ongoing work whether that was our MLK Preach-In in April, our support of the National Assembly in Washington, DC with the Poor People’s Campaign in June, or our efforts to get out the vote leading up to the election in November!

In the coming days, we shall launch listening sessions across multiple platforms and locations.  We want to hear from you.  What’s important to you when it comes to justice?  What ways are you willing to step up, out and do more?  How will you make a difference?

Please check out Relevant Conversations with Bishop JS and be on the lookout for CT Black Women’s new podcast coming soon!We can’t do this work alone.  We need your support!  We need your help!

Please click here to donate a gift either a one time or a monthly gift to us. It is most need and very appreciated!Dr. Thurman’s prayer said it best, “Grant that I (all of us) may pass through the coming year with a faithful heart!”

All the Best,

Pamela and Bishop John Selders (Co-Founders)
